Aqua Design DWR Jacket Features

The StormShield DWR Jacket is built to stand up to the elements. To provide excellent protection against wet weather conditions we use a three-layer system that combines a woven microfiber outer layer, with an inner PU membrane layer and laminated fleece that act together to form a moisture barrier. We added an outer moisture seal-over flap with Velcro closure to provide even more moisture protection.

This jacket is designed to meet the needs of a fisherman, so we added several features to make fishing in cold wet weather more enjoyable. To store extra gear and supplies, we added large zippered storage compartments, along with a large 12” X 14” storage compartment on the back. For hanging tools like hemostats and nippers, we added convenient tool tabs on the chest. To keep your landing net within easy reach, we included a large D-ring on the back for landing net attachment. Adjustable cuff closures, shock cord hem adjustments at the bottom of the jacket, and an adjustable hood shock cord allow for a more customizable fit. The over-bill hood design gives you more protection against the sun and rain.

In addition to keeping you warm and dry, the StormShield Pro DWR is dressed in our signature water-inspired “sky-ward” camouflage. Available in 4 unique 3-D water print colors, you’ll be able to choose the camo color that best matches your fishing environment, helping you blend in with your surroundings so the fish won’t see you. For anglers who don’t want the rain to stop them from making a catch, the StormShield Pro DWR will provide the warmth, the water repellent and the stealth they need to brave the storm.

Four 3-D Camo Colors:

Aqua Sky - Ideal for sunny to partly sunny skies.

Green Bayou - Designed to blend in with trees and other vegetation along the shoreline.

Misty Sky - Ideal for overcast skies.

Pacific Sand - Earth tones to match sandy, rocky environments.

New Jacket on the River

I just rec'd the jacket and have used it twice on very cold days in Steelhead Alley. Both days were in the 20's with windchill yesterday in the teens. I was never cold and really like the water camo design (Green Bayou). The large lower pockets on the jacket hold a lot of gear and the back "stuff" pocket located on the backside will be convenient for that additional layer or other essential items you may want to have with you. Additionally , the loop on the upper back side is perfect for attaching a net to. This will be my outer shell so I really wish you had a waterproof zip pocket on the chest for items such as cell phone, tasty cigars, etc... Other than that I am very please so far

Fly Fisher

Excellent jacket. Used jacket for a fly fishing trip on a cold and wet November day. Kept me dry and warm. Jacket not waterproof but, very water resistant. Pockets in front fit 4 large size fly boxes, with x-large pocket in back that is big enough to hold any extra gear. I used it for rain coat, lunch and 2 bottles of water. The D-rings work great for hanging your nippers, pliers, tippet spools, etc.. and D-ring in back is perfect for hanging your net. No need to bring a fishing vest or hip pack. The only reason I did not give a 5 star rating is, I thought additions of a couple easy assessable interior pockets for keys, cell and, maybe a loop at bottom of jacket that could be used as a rod holder, would make this jacket perfect for me. I have not found any comparable camouflage jackets on the market that is geared for fly fishing. A must have tor the fly fisher!
