Sun, sand, surf, and fun – these are four words that Aqua Design can resonate with. Aqua Design clothing for women and men has come a long way since the company was first established way back in 1995. Once upon a time, we focused on only designing technical clothing for fly-fishing. The idea was no accident. We love fishing. And as you may know fish are color sensitive, so it was only natural that we wanted to blend into our background - we call this “skyward camouflage.” We discovered that many fishing professionals, including dealers and guides, along with weekend angling-warriors, wanted the same too.
Fast-forward a few years and we find ourselves in a whole new niche market. Although we’ve moved away from the male-centric world of fly-fishing, there were a few things that helped us get where we are today.
Little did we know that our sun safe water clothing with our trademark water print patterns would prove to be so popular as an outdoor lifestyle look. We discovered more and more women were falling in love with the romantic swirls and water-inspired prints, and it wasn’t our usual ‘gentlemen’ clientele.
It got us thinking that water and outdoors play an important role in many people’s lives. It doesn’t matter if you’re young or old or male or female, almost everyone everywhere has some connection to water.
Perhaps you love surfing the waves of Maui, sunning yourself on the beaches of California, playing beach volleyball in Miami or fishing in the wild rivers of North Carolina…no matter what it is you love, it doesn’t matter, there’s nothing greater than spending time outdoors near water.
But Statistics Tell Us Something Else…
Every year 5.4 million people in the US are treated for skin cancer[i], which is why it’s even more imperative to cover up and protect yourself from the harsh UV rays. Today, it’s obvious that society is, even more, fashion conscious than ever, which is why some people may not be inclined to cover up properly. We’ve taken all of that into consideration, and as a result, we’ve come up with a range of fashionable water infused clothing that will allow you to have fun, enjoy the sun, be comfortable, look the part, and stay protected from the sun all at the same time.
Our research proved to us that there wasn’t much available in terms of sun protective beachwear and trendy water clothing that suited both genders. Our love of the outdoors and water activities combined with our goal of designing something fashionable, sleek, comfortable, and safe, pushed us to research further. What the Aqua Design Team came up with was a range of quick-dry knit clothing with a UPF 50+ that’s light and comfortable (and of course fashionable and flattering). Instead of dreading covering up (and perhaps fighting with your kids to the same), you’ll want to wear our range of apparel. Because let’s face it, if you want to hit the surf, you’ve got do it in style.
It’s no secret that beaches and the sun lure Americans and many others around the world when they’re choosing their vacation destination,[ii] and this is what we’ve kept in mind the whole time. We value our customers and we hold a high value on our innovative designs. Aqua Design’s range of clothing has evolved and will continue to evolve with your needs and the times.
We appreciate your desire to spend your free time in the ocean, next to a pool, on a river, or paddle boarding on a lake. And if truth be told, we can’t think of any other better way you could spend your time. Aqua Design has your back; we’ll take you on your next pursuit down the river’s rapids, up to the top of the wave’s crests…we’ll take you on an adventurous journey, so you can search for all the thrills you’re yet to experience because let’s face it, you only live once, so you need to make waves and turn heads while you do so.
You’ll never feel out of place with our subtle prints and attractive colors. We want you to look good, beyond hot, and because of the built-in UPF protection, you’ll be much safer from the sun.
