Why You Need Swim Shorts For The 9 Best Water Slides In The World

April 26, 2016

Keep your modesty next time you ride a wild water slide with the right swimwear.

Waterslides are incredibly fun, there’s no doubt about it. There’s no other feeling in the world that can be compared to flying down a thrilling waterslide and crashing into that fresh cool pool of water at the bottom. But then again there’s also no other feeling in the world when you lose your bikini mid-slide…horrifying is not the word!

But then you can’t go to a water resort with your friends and family and NOT go and have fun on all the resorts’ slides, can you, because if you’re going to do this, you may as well stay at home. You want to look cute in your swimwear, but you also want to maintain your modesty on the slide, is it even possible?

Of course, it is. It all boils down to choosing the right swimwear (and yes there’s such a thing). You want the right swimwear that will flatter, but you also want it to all be intact and in the right position when you finally reach the end. Choosing a supportive racer-back bikini top will ensure your bikini top won’t gravitate as you speed down with the rushing water. Match your cute bikini top, which should also be able to double up as a sports bra, with a pair of swim shorts for women. With a pair of cute swim shorts, your bikini bottoms won’t ride up where they shouldn’t, and you can rest easy knowing you’ll still be wearing them at the end.

Now, you’ve got your bikini and swim shorts sorted, you need to find some of the best waterslides in the world to test them out. We want you to have the time of your life when you visit the world’s most beautiful resorts, so grab your friends, pack your bikini, and hit one of the top nine water slides in the world without worrying about your modesty.

1. Verruckt, Kansas City

This record-breaking water slide stands at an amazing 168 feet high. If you’re a thrill-seeker and love that feeling of your stomach flipping, you’ll love the feeling as you fly down the highest waterslide in the world. Higher than Niagara Falls, this death defying water slide also has a 50-foot drop, which equates to about ten standing giraffes. Unlike other water slides where you lie down on your back, close your eyes, hold your bikini, and hope for the best, you sit in a three-seater seat with your buddies. You’ll be so high with excitement you won’t even realize you’ve done it as it’s all over in a matter of seconds…but that’s the best part!

2. Jumeirah Sceirah, Dubai

Dubai’s highest water slide is enough to scare the pants off you, but luckily you’ll be wearing your new bikini shorts that won’t be going anywhere. The slide itself is 32 meters high, but that’s not the scariest part – the slide literally drops from underneath you. There are a number of flumes to choose from, and they measure a mere 120 meters long, but the speeds will blow your mind. The average recorded speed is about 50 miles per hour, now that’s fast!

3. Scorpion’s Tall, Wisconsin

This water slide is massive! Measuring ten floors high and 400 feet long, you’ll drop about 50 feet every second. Do you have what it takes? But if this isn’t enough for you, there’s even a crazy aqua loop halfway, which will surely make you scream. Just make sure you do it on an empty stomach or you’ll pay the price!

4. Insano, Brazil

This crazy water slide, located in Brazil, is all about the speed baby. While it only measures 41 meters in length, you’ll be flying down the waterslide at speeds of 65 meters per hour. It doesn’t get much wilder than this! This slide is insanely fast, hence the name Insano, so thank your lucky stars you’ll be wearing a sexy yet practical bikini top and shorts.

5. Dawwama, Abu Dhabi

It’s no surprise that Abu Dhabi has one of the best water parks in the world. The Dawwama is the perfect water slide to mess about on with all your friends. Zoom down a 20-foot flume huddled together in a large seat and allow yourself to be thrown from side to side as you fly down the slide. There will be screams, squeals, and a lot of laughter, but one thing’s for sure it will test your friendship.

6. Brain Wash, Florida

Don’t be put off by the name. The Brain Wash in Florida is a waterslide for the whole family. If you’re looking for a more local family fun water vacation, this is definitely worth checking out. You’ll be taken down a 65-foot long swirly flume that will have the whole family screaming with excitement, and the kids are bound to love seeing the tears of fear in mom and dad’s eyes.

7. King Cobra, New Jersey

We love the name, and this waterslide in New Jersey is just as awesome. The size is formidable. Measuring five floors high with a 250-meter race track, you’ll be able to race all your buddies down the slide at once and reach great speeds of about 32 miles per hour!

8. Leap of Faith, Atlantis

Well, the name says it all. You’ve got to have faith for this one! This water slide is crazy beyond words. With a vertical drop of about 60 feet, it’s enough to make anyone’s heart jump out of their chest. But if this is not enough to put fear into you, you’ll also fly through a pool filled with sharks…yes, really!

9. Summit Plummet, Florida

It’s fair to say Florida has her fair share of amazing water parks and resorts, and the Summit Plummet is one wild waterslide. The entire length of the flume measures 360 feet, and it’s a whopping 120 feet tall. You’ll be able to reach heart-stopping speeds of around 60 miles per hour, which is why this one isn’t for the faint-hearted.

There are a literally hundreds of awesome water slides around the world, but some of the world’s best water resorts are right on our doorsteps, closer to home.
